1983 V45 Clutch Line Replacement

So I have an '83 v45 and I need to replace the clutch line.  Unfortunately, I ran into a problem, in that there is a solid steel line between the 2 vinyl cables between the master and slave cylinder.  Can I bypass that or do I need to do something else to get my clutch working right?
