Forks - Did I screw up?

Hey Guys -
83 v45 Magna. Fork seals are bad, but can't replace just now. Added oil thru the top 'caps' where the air nozzles are. After doing so I had literally no front suspension. Once I realized I probably screwed up, I sucked all that oil out again, but still only have about 1" of travel, 0 psi for air.  Stiff as a board. Any ideas? TIA!

Empty the fluid out and put in the appropriate amount for your forks.
