okay guys here is the deal . I am getting ready to change the oil in the magna and was wandering what type oil you all use ? I have had mine changed in the shop but I have hard time paying almost forty bucks for it . I am a big fan of royal purple and was wandering if anyone uses it ? The other question I have is how many quarts does it take?

Greg Cothern

I have tried several different types and brands over the years and have went specifically to Mobil 1 MX4T motorcycle specific synthetic and LOVE it.  I have found it at Wal-mart and Autozone.

Hmm, I'm only about 1100 miles from y'all and I was trying to figure out a way to get away with driving down for a MOOT event without coming home and finding the locks changed at the house.  And now I've got it, "But Honey, one of the MOOT guys said that he'd give me free oil for an oil change if I came down."

Do you think it'd work?

Btw, it was 72 degrees in the mountains of SC/NC and I got to take my first real ride on my Magna today.  I think God smiled on me, as it was such a beautiful ride.  God bless the twisties.

..., my paycheck, my car, my van, my house, my kids, ....

My friend who turned me on to the Magna is ready to load up and head down to the MOOTmag #5 rally if I go.  He's been jerking my chain trying to get me to go ever since I mentioned the MOOTmag rally to him, saying I could live in his garage since his wife already gave me permission to keep the bike there when repairs are needed.  Now he's trying to convince me to head to Americade with him and I keep reminding him that I've only ridden for 3 months now.

roboto65

Well I guess we have to ride out there and convince the wife it's OK for you to go MOOTmag with us since my wife and kids are coming and we consider this a family affair with riding so she needs to come too !!!!! :D
I sure hope you can make it out we have a lot of good times at MOOTmag we have  such a great group of people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AS far as your riding skills well we have rides for everyone and leave no Man or Women behind it's not about going fast it's about everyone having a good time not that some of us don't get on the throttle sometimes LoL heheheh

That would be a good chance to win the longest rider award.
My sister is thinking of coming from WV on her shadow.
Do try to come, it is a good place for riding and a chance to meet up with a great bunch of people. Bring the family as well.
