Radiator fan question

OK, I've done a search and haven't found much info on my problem.  I bought my '94 last fall and haven't really ridden it in warm weather until recently.  I noticed that the fan never kicked on when I rode it in the cold, thinking it cooled enough due to the temperature outside.  Now it has been in the 70s and 80s and after riding yesterday for quite a while, I noticed the fan never came on, unless it is whisper quiet.  I have ridden many bikes and I could always hear the fan kick on.  My temp. light comes on when the key is on, and it never has come on while riding, so I don't know if it has ever gotten hot enough for it to come on.  The coolant is fresh and clean.
Is there anything I can do to check the fan's function (fuse maybe?)  Should I hear the fan while riding?  I don't want to overheat the engine, that's for sure.  Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't worry.  It sounds that you bike is normal.  I have had my 2000 Magna for 3 years and the fan has come on twice, and only then in stop and go traffic and the temp around 100.

My '99 is the same. When riding the fan won't kick on unless the temp is in the upper 90s and I'm at a stop or in slow traffic.

One more confirmation.  I believe it was Monday it came on for a few minutes.  The temperature was in the 80's.  Sitting at the red light my leg will sometime get a little warm next to the head and then the fan will kick on.  I toke off from the red light and the fan turns off.

You could put a jumper on the fan relay to make it turn on.  It would be a good check to do just to make sure you don't find out that it really doesn't work in the middle of rush hour traffic.

Good Luck,

All sounds like they are working perfect!
