Has anyone had to replace the dampers on the rear wheel?
When I pulled my rear wheel to take and get the new tire mounted. I noticed that I had some play / give in these little rubber pie slice shaped pieces that "connect" the outer hub with the sprocket, with the rear wheel.
I'm wondering if this is where I'm feeling a slack / jerk feel when I accel or decel in lower gears?

Len, they are basically shock absorbers...  There should be a bit of play.  Unless they look like they are not symetrically then I would replace.  Otherwise I would reinstal and enjoy the ride!

Yea I cleaned everything up good. put the wheel back on with the new tire. Readjusted the chain tension and the jerk is pretty much gone.
I guess there was too much chain slack.
I did clean the sprockets and chain really well and re lubed.
My sprokets is starting to show wear and i'm almost to the replace chain mark on the frame so i'll be in the market for sprokets and chain soon. probebly for next season.
BTW. new tire make me  :D
