I got the horns today, for 19.00 dollars I am still satisfied.  The horn is not metal it is plastic but looks ok.  Galvanized steel must be the pump.

So do the horns really look like chrome, or more like silver paint?

I am thinking of ordering a set for myself -- it would be easy to change out the trumpets, as they are simply a snug fit into the air housings.

They look sommelier to the fake air breathers on the side of the engine.  I am happy with them.

Well, yesterday I actually used the air horns for the first time.  Cager in a minivan pulled through the yield sign just in front of me.     I hit the brakes and the horn at the same time.  Upon hearing the "blast from the blue" she immediately dropped the cell phone and dived for the shoulder of the road.

You gotta love it!!  8-)

More brain storming do you see any problem here.  It is out of the way of the foot shifter.  I thought it would be safer on this side then the brake side.

More pictures to come for the horns.

That is not rust it is a bad glow from a flashlight

Robert, I don't see why that won't work -- my only reservation is the pump may get a bit warm.  I think I could take the clamp I made for the crash bar and mount the pump on the frame -- it is about 1.25" diameter, is it not?  Did you make the mounting clamp, or buy something?

I have ordered a set of the chrome horns, so I will have two pumps.  So if I burn up one of 'em I have a spare to use.

Wish I had found the chrome horns to start with, but oh, well...

I am still contemplating mounting the trumpets on the windshield stanchions -- but probably only if I can figure out a clean way to hide the pump in front of the air box.

And Greg, I never claimed that my loud pipes were a safety feature.  I think they are pretty obnoxious, actually.  But the bike came with the Cobra pipes on it, and I changed to a K&N filter and rejetted the carbs to make it run just super fine.  I am loathe to change it, since my grandpa always warned me to "not fix stuff what ain't broke!"

I Believe the frame is 2 inches.  I don't remember where I got the clamps. It could have been the Honda shop or ebay.   I used them for my highway pegs before getting the engine guards.

Temperature did cross my mind, I was going cheek the temperature tomorrow after riding to work.  I was going to swing it around to the front of the frame if it was too hot.  I just wish I knew what too hot was.  If I do move it I will probably paint it black to blend in with the frame.

I have bought a L bracket material to mount the horns.  I just need to modify them.

I feel the only place loud pipes help is at slow speeds like parking lots or in neighborhoods.  The first couple of months of owning the bike I used my horn two times in parking lots.  After modifying the pipes the next three years, I used the horn 2 times.

I have not wired it in yet.

I got the covering at Pep Boys for 10.00.  It was about 8 feet long.  I will use it on my wife's bike.  She has a beautiful bike but some of the wires need to be covered.

The hose covering really makes a difference.  Looks great!

Hey Robert.. Nice looking horns..
It looks like you have an imperfection in your front cylinder in the top two pictures - A little indentation..
Oh, we covered that in another post, didn't we...
Is there a reason you put the compressor on the left side instead of the right? Just asking, seems like a longer run for the air tubing.
