BTW. I saw a V65 Sabre tonight - 20K miles, Nice condition - $2500
I thought of you.. You would probably prefer the Magna, but quite a bike for $2500!!

You can get one cheaper than that right here on the board right now...

Still a work in progress.  Work has been very busy.... Working 15 hour days for the past 3 weeks...including coming in on Saturdays!!

I seem to miss the freedom of being poor, and riding the wind on my motorcycle through random parts of the countryside.

If you're not able to wrench, it's time to find a local independent shop who is not looking to rip you off.  I paid $35 each to have my tires mounted and balanced at the Honda shop in CT, so I think the $188 is a bit excessive.

If you're looking to do the progressive springs, then you should do seals and slider bushings while you're at it.  Makes a huge difference in the handling, but like the others said, it does make it stiffer.  Stainless lines made a huge difference as well, I did them on my V65 and didn't on my V45, makes the V45 feel dangerous in comparison...

If you have the space to work on it, pick-up a manual or let me know and I can send you a link to download the Honda manual, most of what you're looking to do is relatively basic, easy to learn to do.  Pull the wheels off yourself and bring them to the shop and it'll be much cheaper.  Speedo replacement is 2 screws, and unscrewing the cable.  Keep your eyes open on Fleabay and a used one will pop up.  I got a tach for my V65 for $25.

That and DUCTTAPE wait there may be a book out for that already
The Mythbusters did a show on ducttape.
They lifted a car with 11o strips of the stuff.
Built a cannon that fires an 8Lb cannonball out of it too.
