Here are some pics of the light bar I fabricated from .250 aluminum stock. Saw a similar one for sale on ebay and decided to make my own. Really wanted some smaller lights on it but could only find 4" lights at a price I was willing to pay. PLEASE note that the 4th picture shows the added switch, the delux chronographic device (it was on the bike when I bought it) and the obligitory can of seafoam. I wouldn't want to be breaking any unwritten MOOT bylaws, or be wanted by the Seafoam P.D. :-D

Nice, but does remind me a little of a "Bugeye" Sprite...

I think it looks great what is it attached to?

It uses the original headlight mounts. This is a daily driver (weather permitting) so I am usually driving to or from work in the dark. Wanted some extra light to help see and be seen.

Is that a running GT, tell us about it.

You did a nice job. It's nice and clean. I can not tell by the picture of what kind of mount you have for your windshield. But on my set up I have the same switch. I mounted it to the posterior side of of the left mount. I placed it here just to try and keep it out of sight.

Looks nice and clean. I do a lot of night riding so I know what you are talking about.
I add LED to be seen also. Got them from Terry's web page.

already having an issue with one of the lights. haven't had a chance to look into it yet. not sure if it burned out or if it's a connection problem. will look at it this weekend.
If it is  the light, I'm considering changing over to some LED's.
As far as the GT goes. it is a '74 that my old neighbor up in ohio had. I brought it down to texas and my son and I rebuilt it. It too has suddenly developed issues. It seems that anytime it revs over about 4k, the revs just keep climbing uncontrolled. I have to jam it into first gear and bog it down, can't figure it out. any thoughts? otherwise it runs and drives good.

Yes I do, It just about has to be lean air to fuel ratio, chances are cleaning the pilot circuit well and the other jets will eliminate the problem as long as you have no crank seals leaking. Floats should be fine if it ran well before and developed this problem after sitting for some time. The rubber carb collars shrink and can give it a lean mixture also.

On my GT750 I had to soak the carbs overnight due to a pesty circuit I could not clean with carb cleaner and air pressure.

Check your point gap, should be 12-16 thousands, I set mine at 14, make sure your timing is correct also.

Thanks for the insight. Seems like anytime this thing sits for more than a couple of weeks the carbs need to be cleaned. And it is a major pain in the butt to pull them off. getting good at it though. This "modern" gas is a pain in the ass !   Yes, i put Seafoam in the fuel tank to try and help out with this but it doesn't seem to do the trick. The funny thing is, it was running stronger than ever yesterday when I was riding it. One little crack of the throttle and I had to hang on,  had to keep reigning it in though when it just wanted to keep going :)

If you can make sure your petcock shuts the fuel off when the bike is not running, your bowels willmale the evaporate and limit issues with your carbs.

Dissemble the vacuum petcock and clean well, gently remove the diaphragm, on the other side of the diaphragm you will see an O-Ring, replace the O-Ring and that should eliminate your fuel from dripping into the carbs when stopped. There should also be a small spring IIRC under the cover that covers the diaphragm.  I have three bikes and no issues with carbs clogging up.

do you shut the fuel off and run the bowls dry? I haven't been shutting the petcock off, I guess I need to start doing that.
Well, I pulled the carbs and cleaned out the jet that usually clogs. Such a tiny hole, no wonder. Anyway, runs much better. I usually have a problem with that jet, I should have known. Lets see how long until it clogs again.

If you are using the stock petcock, there is no Off, you have ON-RES-PRIME. When there is no vacuum from the motor the diaphragm allows the O-Ring to shut off the fuel.
