while on my initial ride my dad noticed that the marker light had went out. no biggie I thought. I put a new bulb in and the marker light still wont work BUT the turn signal does? This is the right rear light, it has a different bulb in it then ALL the others. I wanna say its a 1034 in the Right rear. I tried swappin bulbs around, but the others do not fit. did someone put a different turn signal housing on? I suck at electricity, but ive looked at all the wires, the fuses and stuff. Not a big deal since I cant ride at night LEGALLY on my learners permit here in OHIO. Thanks

The rear lights are not markers, only the front.

DG is correct, only the front have running lights, the rear are just turn signals.

I am not very knowledgeable on the first Gen.

DG and Greg are right only the front are running lights and rear are off. Most 80's and older bikes neither the front or the back where running light but I don't know about the first Gen Magna.

Now with that said there are after market light kits that run the rear turn signal light at half brightness then full bright if using the brake or turn signal.  So if one side is working as running lights and not the other you may have a brake modulator or someone miss wired something. If the bulb are not interchangeable that is odd.  I would think they would be the same bulb.

Only front are running lights. If you want rear running lights you can buy another set of front turn signals and splice the 3rd wire into the license plate circuit. Or you can buy a set of aftermarket turn/run signals and customize your bike. That's what I did on mine. Just make sure you test everything before making any final crimps because the wires are tight to begin with.

You can run front signals on the back to make rear running lights but be advised it is illegal to have amber rear running lights, however you can get around this with red rear lenses etc.

Red lenses are next to imposable to find. I just went to Hobby Lobby and found a can of Testers Transparent Candy Apple Red model paint and painted mine. Works great.  8)

thanks for the replies. been away all week. the guy I bought it from said he went to a used bike store and replaced one of the markers, possibly using a front signal instead of a rear? I thought I was goin crazy. I was gonna go out this weekend to see if i could find a new assy. at a shop hear in Toledo called Homers, my old man is always talkin bout them for honda and suzuki bikes especially older ones. well anyway Thanks.
