Thanks for the offer, but it was just a thought that ran thru my empty head. Besides you guys are on the right track with the relocation, and I don't need or want any more projects :-?

Replaced the rectifier today, this info might be rudimentary to ones who have done this.

I dropped the rear fender and it was still tight. I took the shocks off the top mount, jacked up the bike and let the rear wheel stay on the ground. This gives you ample room to do whatever you need easily. You can probably get around doing this although it's not as much removal as it looks and makes a lot of room for working in this area.

Time in short supply the widest piece of aluminum was a 2" strap, that's what I went with. The marks will be the area covered by the strap.

Here you will see how much overhang the strap will have. I was going to bend the strap down on the ends but spacers are already in place so the rectifier never touches the bottom of the battery box.

Applied silver thermal compound.

Has to be an improvement but until I can measure the temps this mod will be undetermined if it lowers the temperature enough to remedy the issue, a 3 inch plate would be better that covers more surface.

Good pics, Terry.

Got mine off without disassembling the bike.  If I ever have to put it back, however...

Well the Artic Silver is some good stuff I might have took some 400 grit wet/dry and polished both surfaces to get a good link but I am sure that will be better than nothing at all !!!!

This regulator is the OEM as long as you get this brand and part number, matches up to the OEM I bought from Honda. I have a photo of the part numbers on the reg. I purchased from Honda if you care to see.

This difference? this one will save you some money compared to buying through Honda. I was going to buy this but I now have a spare.
