I finally got to order my pics from the track day and thought I would post some of them. The bikes clockwise from top left are: '85 Honda VF1000R, '99 Honda 600F4, VF1000R again, '02 Ducati 998. Sure was a fun day to ride these very different bikes. Can hardly wait til June 24th! :D

We are waiting for the video to be mailed to us so that is still in the works, we tried an idea that didn't quite work.

You and Curtis need to strip them Valks down and come play on the track. It would be a Mastercard moment for sure as you pass them on their sport bike. LOL  :D

Disclaimer: This was Deb's first attempt useing this camcorder to tape such fast moving vehicles!

I sure wish I could have had better sound on it. From where Deb had to stand I'm glad to get video from that distance  :D  At that point on the tape(1:53) I'm not sure you heard my bike, kinda sounded like a Ducati. About 2:03 sounds like mine but I'm not sure.

All this talk about track days gave me an idea, how plausible I don't know. How about getting as many members as we can together to have a track day? Call it MOOTTD? Or get members from MRA, SMOT, and/or others to fill the positions? Details would probably need to be worked out with one of the track day organizations. If they can show people how to race I'm sure they could show us how to improve our riding skills.

I'm in.

My MSF experienced rider course was booked full of people who I had ridden with before or I might not have gotten around to doing it.  It was great having the whole course and class (and instructors) to ourselves.

I contacted the Longhorn Motorcycle School which is hosting the track day Jeff is attending on June 24th.  They have a few spots left in the beginner class. The tuition is $165 and they will give a 10% discount if 3 or more riders sign up together.

Just like any other track day program you need a full face helmet, gloves, boots, and leathers. I'm OK on all the gear, but others may need to rent it. I have details for that if you need it, but it generally costs about $99. The guy did say he had a couple of leather sets he personally loans out. He's 5'10" and weighs 165.

I'll be emailing a few local Mootsters here to see if they're interested. I still haven't decided if I'm going to do it yet. Something about wearing my leathers in 90 degree heat just isn't that appealing.  :D

I still need to sign up for it but will by this weekend so I could count as one of the three we need for the discount. Jesse, let me know what you hear from the people you contact.

To help with getting in and out of the leathers in the heat I just purchased a Joe Rocket inner suit from New Enough for $71.00. It is mesh material so it will also help keep me cool. I also can't say enough about pleased I am with their service and communication, it was top notch as always.

Jeff, I haven't gotten any committments from anyone down here yet. :( Two of my four other candidates are unavailable.

I sent out another email this morning to remind the others.  I'll let you know.
