Well after the bike sitting and the general consensus was clogged low speed jets, and cooler weather, I took the carbs off today and cleaned the jets. Man were they clogged, couldn't see daylight thru any of them. Was a wonder the bike would even run.

Used a bit of advice I had seen from Lawrence(I think) used a piece of small wire from a wire brush to clean the holes out and then blew them out with compressed air, after a couple of time doing this they were clean.

Put everything back together and took for a test ride, back to riding like a dream. Whoo Hooo

Hardest part of the whole operation was getting the carbs off the bike, probably the first time they have been off.
Found a website with step by step instructions with pics and followed that, here is the link,

There are a few things listed that are more difficult than how I have learned to do them.  One thing is that I removed the auto fuel shut off with the carbs instead of removing the line.  Its MUCH MUCH easier this way.

I must admit I didnt read the entire process.  Just FYI we have a write up on the MOOT site also.

I read the write up on the Moot site and then found the other, I am a very visual person, I learn more by seeing than anything else or actually doing, Just wish I had been able to get to a wrench session, but did learn a lot doing it myself.
I am just glad that the bike is up and running again, been too long since I got to ride. Now just need to get it re-registered.

David - Don't forget the SeaFoam.. Besides Cleaning, it also acts as a fuel stabilizer.. Maybe it will keep you out of trouble if the bike sits a little longer than you like Next time!!!

Good job on getting it apart and back together on your own..

Hoot, the new gas definitely has the Sea Foam in it, cause that is a lot easier than pulling the carbs
