Oooohhh, Guy!  Cool toy!!

I, too, have observed that when I am carrying, (which is most of the time), I am more careful to avoid confrontation.  I have learned, over the years, to let the idiots that dash around and cut me off, etc. to just go on -- I care, but refuse to react.

Riding a motorcycle has also contributed to my adjusted attitude about traffic jerks, parking space bandits, obnoxious loud "music", etc.

HMMMM.

Maybe MOOTMaG 2014 needs to combine some bike riding with and afternoon of combat pistol action on the Frio.

Not sure if Jill would appreciate the gun fire though.
You are not paid for what you do, but rather for what you will do and when that time comes, you will be highly underpaid.

I would give up riding the back roads if I had to carry a gun for protection. That is so sad!
We always think the grass is greener (I'm sure it is in Texas, for sure not here in Nova Scotia today) on the other side of the fence, but be careful what you wish for. Spring will be a while coming yet; just getting my bikes ready for the summer (May 2014).
Cheers!
I don't want to misrepresent this area as a post apocalypse shootout. I full well expect that I will never have to use my weapon. Part of the reason is that I stay away, as much as I can, from places and events where I would need it. I no longer flip off or scream at idiots who cut me off in traffic or do other stupid and inconsiderate things. Because in any conflict I get into now, the is a firearm present. My ego is not my amigo.
What I'm preparing for is a very low probability, but extremely high impact scenario. Bad people live everywhere, and just hoping for the best never works. In the UK, the assault rate tripled in the 10 years following gun control and it doubled in Australia. There were more murders, though fewer with guns, following gun legislation. The simple fact is, unarmed people are easier to hurt. (my Blog "Worlds apart" covers some of this with links to source material if you'd care to check it out.)
I don't ride as much as I did, but the reason is less about safety than this:

Is that a stock color for the BMW? Beautiful.

That is a stock paint job. There's a couple of hail dents on the hood, and the front bumper has some damage. There's some paint cracked off and a hairline crack on the passenger side. It just needs some fiberglass, paint, and somebody with enough gumption to get to it. I can buy the first two items. Not sure what happened to the last item.
I'd rather be outside than in.

Guy, none of that stuff shows in the picture.  Were it not for your hat, we could see your big smile better, which is all the beautification necessary, IMO.
