No major reasons just a bunch of little ones.

Did not want it to possibly interfere with the brake.
Closer to the existing horn wiring.
Easier to hide the splitter between the heads.

I did try the brake side I just don't remember why, but it could have been I did not like the look of it or it was closer to the tail pipe.  There was a reason I just don't remember why.
